Inspiring Quote.

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening, that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique and if you block it,  it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open... No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others."

-Martha Graham

I find this quote very relatable and inspiring. It tells us how you are unique and you musn't give up. You don't have to be happy with the work you've done but you have to accept that it's your own. Accept it because you can improve it. This can reflect on so many things. Your personality, a drawing/painting/piece of artwork, dancing, dressing, even just thinking in general. You might have an idea but you don't think it's all that yet you still put it on a piece of paper and hand it to your teacher. You might not be happy with it but it is yours and only yours. It's unique in it's own way though it may be similar to a classmates'. Overall, I think we should keep this in our minds. When we're not content with something we've done. We must accept it and move on aware that in the future we'll do better. Also keeping in mind that it's not our job to compare our work/selves with anyone else's.

Motivational

The video that I posted about is called, “Best Motivational Video Ever for Creative People and Startups”. A YouTube channel called “Kaleem” made this video. His channel is not that popular, although the video has over 1.5 million views.

I chose this video first of all because I like the main idea of the video, which is to put out your ideas before it’s to late. I like the fact that they used comparisons. (When they compare the difference between a child’s imagination and creativity to an adult’s imagination and creativity). The next reason I chose this video is because I feel like I relate to it. I sometimes have great ideas, although I am scared that I others will think that it is a bad idea. A lot of the time, someone else says my idea later and I find out that people actually think that it is a good idea.

creativity

                                                                        creativity

the video that i am writing about is by a very famous YouTube channel who made the series kid president. in this video he was giving a pep talk to teachers and students around the world.

the reason i picked this video was because i thought it was a very good video about him trying to cheer the world up and it was very creative because i would not think of making a kid as a president who goes around and cheers up people and makes them realize that every one is a person who brings ideas to the big table called the world e.g ( teachers made 1 Albert  Einstein who probably inspired someone to make a new creative idea).

connections
i have gave some of my family members a pep talk because sometimes like everyone else in the world they get down but i try my best to keep my family happy all the time.

Spark Club

                                                                                                                                                                                                  oct/19/14
                                                                                                 spark club                                                                                                                                                                                                     by sahil nanda

spark club is a club where you do random acts of  kindness for people around you. like in spark club right now we are planing to throw a party for one of the teacher and a school wide thing that i cant talk about right now. also we talked about how we feel today by giving a number rating out of five and then saying we where where that happy or sad, example is i am a five because it is Friday to day and i can sleep in or im a two because i am sleepy today. and its a little weird because there is three boys out of fifteen girls in the class!

The club was being ran by madam Amenta in room 111 from 11:15 to 11;45, where we all where just talking about how we could do nice things for the school, like i gave the idea of running a round the school with a cart of coffee and giving all the teachers coffee with donuts.

Model UnitedNations Club

The club I went to was MUN (Model United Nations club). I went to MUN because my brother recommended this club instead of all the other clubs. I am even thinking about joining MUN. I also went to free the children but I enjoyed MUN more.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             I thought the club was very cool, talking about our countries that people chose. I liked the concept, and my friends were going too. When I went to my very first meeting, the room was very packed. I didn't realize that so many people wanted to join the club. The club meetings are held on Fridays on 11 at Mr.Pococks' room #214. The older students who were talking about the club was very passionate about MUN. They gave us instructions on how we could sign up, pick a country and other things.                                                                                                                                                                                                             I suggest this club because it helps your speech skills as well as your debate skills which are great. In addition, you get to meet and socialize with people who have the same interests as you and get to see what is happening around the world talking about world problems.

Free The Children Club

The club that I attended is called Free the Children. I checked out this club because my sister has been in the club for a couple years now and is very involved. Ever since the school year began she had been bugging me to join the club because she thought I would enjoy it. I also checked it out because some of my friends had talked about wanting to check it out and I agreed to go with them. I went to one of their meetings during the summer with my sister and some of my friends, but my friends got bored so we left and went to a park to play football.

The club was started by Cecelia who is also my sisters’ friend, and she started it in grade 10. She started it because she was passionate about helping children across the globe who have less. She had heard about a company named “Free the Children” who was passionate about the same things she was. So she named the club after the company. The club is almost like an extension of the company. They help by holding fundraisers, donating money and food, and volunteer for their own Free the Children events.
The meeting I attended was on October the 9th and was in Mr. Pococks’ room (Room 214). They hold meetings at lunch in Mr. Pococks room every Thursday. The meetings start at 11:00.

I would suggest this club because you get to meet a lot of other kids who have some of the same interests as you and they are all different ages.  It is a great opportunity to get some of your volunteer hours, and you get to see and learn about things that are happening across the globe.
